Darwin’s Paradox Tips Hub
You already read the Beginner Guide and skimmed the Abilities page. This tips hub compresses advanced ideas: ink economy loops, audio cues, vertical routing, chapter-select grinding etiquette, and performance tweaks for Steam Deck. It is not a replacement for the walkthrough—use both when a single hallway costs too many retries.
Ink economy — spend like a speedrunner
Track cooldowns mentally in units of “camera sweeps.” If a hallway needs two sweeps to cross safely, you can often skip ink entirely by entering camouflage during the first sweep and exiting during the second blind window. When you must ink, place clouds at the farthest edge still touching the cone—this preserves radius for the next encounter. Dipping underwater for two seconds between rooms often refunds enough resource to chain the next chapter’s opening camera without waiting.
Audio-first stealth
Headphones help distinguish sentry pivots from ambient machinery. When the bass line drops, expect patrol speed changes—use that bar to time mantles. Swimming produces quieter loops than walking on grated floors; if you hear metallic resonance, you are about to alert a nearby drone even if visually clear.
Vertical skips
Wall climb plus ink on ceiling cameras clears rooms that designers intended as floor puzzles. Always look up when stuck; maintenance stripes often continue above props. Remember that some achievements require “intended” routes—check the Achievements table before creative skips if you are hunting 100%.
Chapter select grinding
Load the target chapter, grab the collectible or achievement condition, then quit to menu—no need to finish the map unless the trophy demands it. Keep a checklist tab open to avoid losing track between sessions. Pair with the Discoveries page for one-pass sweeps per chapter cluster.
Performance & clarity
If hazard tiles are hard to read, lower film grain and raise contrast slightly—gas rooms color-code safe tiles. On Deck, cap FPS to reduce fan noise; the game’s stealth pacing rewards consistent frame times over raw peaks. Minimum spec players (Windows 10, 4-core 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, RTX 2060 6GB) should disable extra post-processing; recommended hardware (Windows 11, 8-core 3.5GHz, 16GB RAM, RTX 3060 8GB) can run high with room to spare.
